Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, does an awesome job narrating The Fantastic Mr. Fox, another great children’s book he wrote. The Fantastic Mr. Fox is about three old, greedy farmers of varying personalities and body types who come together to try and outsmart Mr. Fox who is stealing their chickens, ducks, and geese to feed his family.
Mr. Fox finds that when his back is against the wall and his wife and four kids are depending solely on him to rescue them from certain death he has more cunningness, strength, and determination than anyone thought was possible.
Mix in the fact that while Mr. Fox was trying to save his own family, he took hold of the opportunity to help others save their families in the process without anyone getting hurt. This is exactly why Mrs. Fox deemed Mr. Fox a fantastic fox resulting in his new name of Fantastic Mr. Fox.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox is a charming children’s story that has great characters to capture a child’s imagination along with strong family values and the value of community to be learned.
